Procedures Essay - 1206 Words

My Procedures Getting their â€Å"Attention† Attention routines will probably be abundant and used in a specific way. I will use many chants and call backs to get my students’ attention during times of transition or to grab their attention. Some of the most frequently used ones are below. There are so many times when I will need to grab the students’ attention to get them to line up, ready to learn, back on task, or ready to move on in our learning and these call backs require that students let me know that they are paying attention and that they are transitioning or refocusing. Some will be effective and some will need adjusting. I will have to experiment each year with each new group of students and make adjustments as needed. This will also help so that I can keep track of the student’s lunch money as well. Getting Back and Giving Papers and Information I will use â€Å"mailboxes† to retrieve and give all important stuff in to get and give information, papers, classwork, projects, and any other communication needed to go home with students for their parents and then retrieve it in the morning each day. Students will retrieve their journals, papers, projects, classwork, and any homework going home that day from their mailbox that will be designated with their name on it. Typically loose papers will be in a folder as well. When they return each day they will place their journal and their folders back in their mailbox for me to review. Throughout the day, as we complete work tasks, they will place any papers they need to take home into their mailbox to be placed into their folder. Most of our work will be done in rotations and in small groups, thus a co-teacher or myself will hand them the work we are doing. If we are doing independent work or a worksheet, which will be rare, a student will be selected to hand out sheets to the class. Grades and any recordings of my observations will be kept in their designated recording books.
